Enroll your first Mac
Enrollment depends on which tier you’re on:
- mngd patch — agent-only. Just install the agent; there’s no MDM profile to push. Skip to Install the agent.
- mngd — agent + MDM. The agent installs the way it does for patch, but you also need an MDM enrollment profile pushed or installed on the Mac so mngd can manage configuration profiles and declarations.
mngd (MDM) — getting a profile
Section titled “mngd (MDM) — getting a profile”The web app generates a per-org enrollment profile at
Settings → Enrollment. Download the .mobileconfig, open it on the
target Mac, and approve the profile in System Settings → Privacy &
Security → Profiles.
For fleet-scale deployment, push the profile through your existing MDM (Jamf, Kandji, Intune, Addigy, Mosyle) or through Apple Business Manager automated enrollment. Docs for each of those live in the integrations section (coming soon).
Verifying the enrollment
Section titled “Verifying the enrollment”On the target Mac:
profiles show | grep mngdIn the web app, head to Fleet — the device should appear within a minute of check-in.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”If the device doesn’t show up, see troubleshooting.
